Implementing our ‘new normal’ as lockdown restrictions begin to ease
It’s been ten weeks since we took the decision to close the Falkirk Business Hub to comply with lockdown restrictions. In the last month, we’ve been busy making changes and improvements to our building to meet new social distancing requirements and to help keep our tenants and staff safe when the building reopened.
In line with Government advice, we’ve upgraded all common areas of FBH and are introducing a new cleaning regime. With these changes in place and lockdown restrictions in Scotland beginning to ease, we have taken the decision to reopen our reception and common areas from Monday 1st June.
An overview of the changes we have made
It is widely anticipated that ‘social distancing’ will be an ongoing requirement for some time to come, therefore we have put in place various measures to ensure the safety of all those working within FBH.
For the time being, we will operate with reduced opening hours. There will be a manned reception from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday only. Virtual office services will also resume from Monday with the same revised hours.
We’ve installed Perspex glass to the reception and café, signs advising of social distancing measures currently being implemented and we have increased the cleaning schedule throughout the property.
Access to the communal kitchens and toilets will be restricted to two people at a time and we have removed all leaflets/magazines from common areas and would ask all tenants to refrain from placing marketing material in these areas at this time. The communal kitchens have all been wiped down and the fridge, microwave and kettles have all been cleaned. The mid-corridor seating areas on each floor cannot be used during this time and as such the seats have been turned in to face the wall.
Hand sanitiser will be available in reception area and on each floor in the common areas and kitchens.
The Hub Lounge has also been installed with Perspex glass on each desk. Desks have been moved to 2m apart and will run on a dedicated desk policy. There are wipe stations available to provide a further cleaning option before and after use.
The smaller meeting rooms on the ground floor will not be available at this time, apart from those wishing to book out for the day to work on their own. The larger Linlithgow, Boardroom and Seminar rooms will be available for meetings on a reduced capacity and costs basis from Monday 1st June.
Finnegans will remain closed until there is increased demand. Social distancing measures have already been installed so the situation is being reviewed constantly. Finnegans are offering take home meal service that can be ordered and collected from the café if you are coming into FBH with further information available on their Facebook page.
Keeping you updated
We will continue to provide updates of developments within the Hub in due course. We have undertaken a significant improvement programme to the physical property during the lockdown, including several internal and external deep cleans, and our digital services have been enhanced with 1GB enabled internet and a new phone system.
Once again, we would like to thank all our tenants for your understanding during this difficult time and we look forward to welcoming you back to FBH shortly.
If you have any questions on our opening arrangements, please get in touch.
