Olderpreneurs supporting Entrepreneurs

By Alistair Campbell

There was a really good article in yesterday’s The Sunday Times by Luke Johnson (@LukeJohnsonRCP) about how there should be life after retirement.

As an ageing entrepreneur, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of the article – “it is dangerous for entrepreneurs to retire” – I have no intention of doing so but not through fear of my own destiny, but because I think it’s imperative that we capture learned experience and don’t let it die out of industry.

For me business has always been more about making a difference than making a profit and I truly believe that we need to harness the knowledge of “olderpreneurs” to inspire and stimulate new business and support “entrepreneurs” through mentoring.   Bellair is currently exploring options for providing young business with support through experienced business people – we’d love to hear from you if you are interested in this venture – and we’ll keep you posted with our developments.
