Meet The Team

Kate Kabacinska – Finance Manager

Kate is originally from Poland, near Gniezno. She has lived in the Stirling area for 15 years now and considers Scotland home. She says, “I loved Scotland from the first moment I arrived here, it wasn’t raining that day.”

Kate joined Bellair in 2016 after previously working as a Management Accountant within the service industry. Kate is based in Falkirk Business Hub and focuses on supporting the Board of Directors of Bellair by controlling financial transactions. Kate also manages a variety of projects within the company’s portfolio. She describes her role as interesting as one day is never the same with the variety of projects she works on.

“I love the energy of the building, so positive and welcoming from the moment you enter the doors. It makes it a great place to work.”

Background

Kate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from the University of Stirling. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She is currently furthering her knowledge by studying a MSC in Professional Accounting at the University of London with their distance learning program.

Fun Fact: Kate loves to travel. Her favourite country to travel to is Greece… because of the food! 

Bellair and Dyslexia Scotland

Colin Campbell, Managing Director of property investment and development company Bellair, owner of Falkirk Business Hub is a huge supporter of Dyslexia Scotland. He has been involved in many of their initiatives and on Saturday the 25th of August Bellair sponsored a fantastic day out for several Dyslexia Scotland Young Ambassadors.

The event took place in Edinburgh at Game Over Escape Rooms. The Escape Rooms are themed to the last detail to enhance your experience and the chosen one for the day was the Philosopher’s Stone Escape Room, which has a 82% difficulty rating! Escape Rooms are a fantastic way to spend time with friends, team build or celebrate a special occasion. Barrie Henderson of Game Over Escape Rooms says, “I am delighted to hear they all had fun. They did very well, almost completing the challenge and saving the world from the dark one.”

Meet The Team

Kenith Munro – Centre Manager

Kenith or as our tenants know him, Kenny, is the Centre Manager at Falkirk Business Hub. He joined Bellair, owner of the Hub, back in 2016 and is primarily responsible for the day to day operation of Falkirk Business Hub. This consists of the co working area, meeting rooms, 50 offices, wellness centre and café. This role is diverse as is the vibrant business community within the hub.

Kenny says that his favourite aspect of his role is engaging with the variety of tenants.

Background

Prior to joining the team at Bellair, Kenny worked in various Payroll and Finance roles within the Public Sector for over 30 years. Latterly as Payroll Manager for Police Scotland. He is also a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. In his free time, Kenny enjoys listening to music and attending concerts.

Advance Laser and Skincare Clinic

Rhoda is a certified trained nurse and has been helping customers in Falkirk and the surrounding areas for a number of years.

Advance Laser and Skincare Clinic are based in Falkirk Business Hub and provide skin treatments such as tattoo removal and hair removal. They are proud to use the Cynosure PicoSure laser for tattoo removal. Rhoda feels very privileged to have this laser as it is normally only found in major cities but is now available in her clinic within Falkirk Business Hub. Rhoda has customers coming from Fife, West Lothian, Edinburgh and Forfar to be treated.

Rhoda says, “I also have the Cynosure’s elite + which is the only “laser” in town for fast and effective hair removal. This is the laser of choice for celebrities such as the Kardashian’s.

Life Fit Wellness Open Day

Save the date! Life Fit Wellness is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 17th August, 9am – 4pm. This is a great opportunity to meet the team of experts at Life Fit Wellness as well as experience some of the exercise classes that they deliver. It is a fully packed programme of events, with a mix of presentations, taster classes and activities to be involved in.

Sessions Include:

Dr Terrina Dickson

Dr Terrina Dickson is delivering two sessions, one focusing on the services she offers in all things related to Women’s Health. From specialized pre-natal testing through to menopause issues and everything in-between. The other session will be focusing on the specialized G.P. services on offer that address specific male issues.

As it is summer-time and we have more exposure to sunlight the G.P. will be taking the opportunity in both sessions to speak about a subject she is passionate about too, skin health and mole screening. Over the course of the morning you will be able to book in and have a mini mole screen.

Finally, wondering if your ache or pain would respond to an injection, think you need an Ultrasound scan? The team will be talking about what the Scan and Injection clinic has to offer. From acute trauma to osteoarthritic knees.

In addition to talks the physiotherapy team will be showcasing what they do in taster classes.

The Life Fit Wellness Personal trainer will be available on the day to have a 1:1 consultation about your fitness goals. The massage therapist will also be available throughout the day offering the opportunity to avail of a sports or remedial massage.

Please note all presentations and taster sessions are free to attend. All sessions require pre booking as space and number of participants are limited. For those participating in an active class there are showers and full change facilities. Massage therapy appointments on the day incur a fee though it will be discounted from the normal rate.

Reaction Counselling

Reaction Counselling has been based within Falkirk Business Hub for over four years. Fiona McMonagle and Margaret Lee are qualified, accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapists (CBT). They offer confidential therapy sessions to individuals seeking counselling. They are both warm and genuine people with a passion for helping others to work through their difficulties so they can make the most of their lives. 

Change the way you act, think and feel

Seeking counselling is a sign of strength, not weakness. It shows that you have courage and are willing to embark on a journey of change to make the most of you. CBT is a collaborative therapy between you and your therapist. During the first session you will usually be asked to consider what you expect to get from therapy, you will then set a goal to give a focus to the sessions. CBT involves looking at the relationship between your thoughts, your emotions and your behaviours – changing either one can have a knock on effect on the others. 

Reaction Counselling also offers group work to deal with insomnia, mindfulness, stress management and self esteem. Corporate training sessions on coping with stress and other issues are available on request.

Co-working Over the Years

Eric Smith has been working in the Falkirk Business Hub co-working facilities for over 5 years and has seen it evolve and change to suit the needs of those that use it.

The HubLounge Five Years Ago…

Eric worked for big corporations such as ICI and other Grangemouth based companies for over 30 years. He decided to become self-employed in 2007 and initially worked from home. Eric found working from home suitable at first but gradually he began to feel isolated and distracted. Even washing the dishes would be preferable to working some days. One of Eric’s clients is based in Edinburgh, so he began to look at flexible working space there but found it quite expensive for a one-person business and he didn’t fancy the commute plus additional travel expenses. At that time, Falkirk Business Hub was just opening its doors and offering a one-month free trial. Eric decided to take this up and within one week he had decided he was going to sign up permanently. He initially began on a 60-hour a month package but moved it to an Unlimited package which he is still currently on.

Independent business people working better, together

Eric feels he gets more work accomplished working out of the HubLounge than he did at home as he feels as if he is in a work environment. He enjoys coming into the Hub and entering “work mode”. Interacting with other people is also a huge positive to him. Eric feels that there is a great mixture of small companies, individuals, and larger companies using the HubLounge as a branch office. He explains that this allows you to network and even generate new business. It can also be great for some free advice from one professional to another!!

“Sylvia and Sharon, who are the Hosts at reception are so helpful and efficient. They are the first impression of the place and they make it a great one.”

He describes the environment as modern, comfortable and great with free printing. He loves the location of the Hub as it has easy car parking and Falkirk Grahamston Railway Station right on its doorstep. If he needs to meet with his Edinburgh clients he can quite easily walk to the train station and be there in less than half an hour.

Eric’s company is called ECS Administration & Proofreading. His taglines are accurate, quick, professional work. After so many years in the chemical industry he decided he wanted to play to his strengths and those are in his own words his attention to detail, being “picky” and analysing information. He offers proofreading to both small scale and large-scale projects.
