Dyslexia Awareness Week

Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland runs from November 4th – 9th.

This campaign is headed up by Dyslexia Scotland, a Stirling-based national charity for dyslexia. This annual week-long campaign aims to increase understanding of what dyslexia is, how it affects people and to show ways you can celebrate and support dyslexia in your life, learning and work. The theme this year is ‘Building Independence for Life’.

As part of this they will be promoting Dyslexic Career Stories, beginning with a suite of posters showing dyslexic people in the workplace, to highlight the varied work and career journeys that dyslexic people have. They hope to inspire the next generation of dyslexic young people to be optomistic for their own futures. This will be the launchpad for a series of dyslexic career videos with dyslexic adults talking about what their career experiences, highs and lows, have been.

Managing Director of Bellair and owner of Falkirk Business Hub, Colin Campbell is one of the individuals opening up about his dyslexic career story.

Dyslexia Awareness Week will also feature a film screening in Stirling, a ‘Loud in the Libraries’ event in Edinburgh and dozens of local activities from the Highlands and Islands to the Borders, with local groups and organisations raising dyselxia awareness at a community level.

Colin will also be compering the ‘Loud in the Libraries‘ event on Thursday, 7th November. There will be live performances by dyslexic musicians Eilidh Steel and Jennifer Ewan followed by a question and answer session led by Colin. People of all ages are welcome to this event. Paul’s Role at FBH

Paul McVeigh is our part-time handyman who ensures that the Hub is always looking its very best 🔨 🧰 If our tenants need anything, Paul is always on hand to help. 

He joined us in February of this year making him the newest member of the Falkirk Business Hub team. Paul says his favourite aspect of working at the Hub is “The relaxed atmosphere and friendly environment created by Kenny and the rest of the Bellair team.”

Fun Facts about Paul

He is from Belfast originally, but has lived in Scotland for 35 years. Over the 35 years he has lived in many parts of Scotland but he now lives in Winchburgh with his family. Paul is passionate about rugby and in his free time he coaches an Under 16’s team in Linlithgow. He is a fully qualified rugby referee. 🏉 

Meet The Hosts

When you walk into Falkirk Business Hub you are greeted by one of our friendly Hosts.

During the week we have Sharon and Sylvia on duty! They are the face of the Hub on a daily basis and handle everything from guests, phone calls, virtual office services, mail handling services, arranging meetings and coordinating events.

Sharon has worked as a Host for six years and her favourite aspect of her job is that it is like a big family at the Hub.

Sylvia has worked at FBH for five and a half years, but it’s hard to imagine the pair without one another! They are the dream team! Sylvia enjoys meeting the variety of different people that work in the building and that walk through the door.

FBH’s Virtual Office or HubTouchdown services are ideal if you are self-employed and need additional support to manage your mail or calls! Sharon and Sylvia agree the narrative with you to use when answering the phone as a representative of your company.

Make a Will Month – Information Meeting

On Monday evening we hosted Strathcarron Hospice for their Make a Will Month information evening.

This October, Strathcarron Hospice have partnered with local solicitors and event planners. Two of the participating solicitors who have agreed to waive their will-writing fee for the month and instead write or update your Will in return for a donation to the Hospice are Cruse Wealth Management and our tenants Moore Marshall Solicitors. At this free information evening all parties spoke about their services to attendees.

Falkirk Business Hub is delighted to announce a new tenant, Graham + Sibbald.

Graham + Sibbald are made up of over 200 highly qualified professionals, located in 14 offices across Scotland. They have had an office in the Falkirk area for 15 years and it is with great pleasure that we welcome them to their new office within Falkirk Business Hub.

Everyone’s home of cancer care

“We are delighted to announce that Falkirk Business Hub have partnered with local charity, Maggie’s Forth Valley. The centre is located in Larbert and helps anyone affected by cancer in our community. Meet The Team

Kate Kabacinska – Finance Manager

Kate is originally from Poland, near Gniezno. She has lived in the Stirling area for 15 years now and considers Scotland home. She says, “I loved Scotland from the first moment I arrived here, it wasn’t raining that day.”

Kate joined Bellair in 2016 after previously working as a Management Accountant within the service industry. Kate is based in Falkirk Business Hub and focuses on supporting the Board of Directors of Bellair by controlling financial transactions. Kate also manages a variety of projects within the company’s portfolio. She describes her role as interesting as one day is never the same with the variety of projects she works on.

“I love the energy of the building, so positive and welcoming from the moment you enter the doors. It makes it a great place to work.”


Kate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from the University of Stirling. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She is currently furthering her knowledge by studying a MSC in Professional Accounting at the University of London with their distance learning program.

Fun Fact: Kate loves to travel. Her favourite country to travel to is Greece… because of the food! 

Bellair and Dyslexia Scotland

Colin Campbell, Managing Director of property investment and development company Bellair, owner of Falkirk Business Hub is a huge supporter of Dyslexia Scotland. He has been involved in many of their initiatives and on Saturday the 25th of August Bellair sponsored a fantastic day out for several Dyslexia Scotland Young Ambassadors.

The event took place in Edinburgh at Game Over Escape Rooms. The Escape Rooms are themed to the last detail to enhance your experience and the chosen one for the day was the Philosopher’s Stone Escape Room, which has a 82% difficulty rating! Escape Rooms are a fantastic way to spend time with friends, team build or celebrate a special occasion. Barrie Henderson of Game Over Escape Rooms says, “I am delighted to hear they all had fun. They did very well, almost completing the challenge and saving the world from the dark one.”

Meet The Team

Kenith Munro – Centre Manager

Kenith or as our tenants know him, Kenny, is the Centre Manager at Falkirk Business Hub. He joined Bellair, owner of the Hub, back in 2016 and is primarily responsible for the day to day operation of Falkirk Business Hub. This consists of the co working area, meeting rooms, 50 offices, wellness centre and café. This role is diverse as is the vibrant business community within the hub.

Kenny says that his favourite aspect of his role is engaging with the variety of tenants.


Prior to joining the team at Bellair, Kenny worked in various Payroll and Finance roles within the Public Sector for over 30 years. Latterly as Payroll Manager for Police Scotland. He is also a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. In his free time, Kenny enjoys listening to music and attending concerts.

It is our pleasure to introduce the team at Pertemps Falkirk office who are based within Falkirk Business Hub. We were delighted when they returned to the Hub community in May 2019 after previously spending two years with us from 2014 to 2016.
